Why I’m Running For City Council
Eau Claire shaped who I am today. This city gave me the opportunities to build a life—and I want to make sure it does the same for everyone. That’s why I’m running for city council: to make sure Eau Claire remains a place where residents, workers, and visitors can thrive.
My career has been about making systems work for people. From IT problem-solving to union negotiations to national advocacy, I’ve fought for fair wages, workplace protections, and policies that put Eau Claire families first. As a union steward, I represented a bargaining unit of 35 full-time employees, negotiating for better pay and workplace rights. I’ve done this work at the local, state, and even international level, serving as a labor correspondent with the State Department in Southern Africa. That experience reinforced my belief that strong communities are built through collaboration and policies that put people first. Today, I work with families to share their stories so federal policymakers understand how their decisions impact Eau Claire.
That’s why I’m running—because Eau Claire needs leaders who don’t just talk, but take action. We can’t afford to wait until problems pile up before doing something about them. We need housing policies that keep Eau Claire affordable and livable for everyone, safer infrastructure, and a stronger local economy that supports small businesses while keeping the city accessible. Eau Claire isn’t just a home. It’s a place where people come for work, healthcare, education, and opportunity, and we need to make sure it works for everyone.
With the right leadership, we can build a city that’s welcoming, connected, and ready for the future. I’m ready to get to work. Let’s build that future together.
